Volunteering

The work of our paid staff is enhanced by the skills and knowledge that our volunteers bring. They are valued members of Age Concern Glenrothes and we are very grateful for the time and energy that they give us. Volunteers are involved in the day to day activities of our organisation, and their thoughts, ideas and feedback are regularly sought through Volunteer Meetings.

If you are interested in volunteering, please give us a call on 01592 756316; or complete our Application Form and return it by post marked:

What we require of our volunteers

To join our team of volunteers, you must be:

For most of our volunteering roles, you do not need formal qualifications or previous experiences, as full training will be provided.

All volunteers will be fully checked through the Disclosure Scotland's Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

What types of volunteering are available?

Volunteering is a great way to gain valuable and rewarding experience and give others the benefit of your knowledge. You become a member of a team and usually, the more effort you put in, the more satisfaction you get out. It is an opportunity to make new friends in a friendly and welcoming organisation.

Interested in sharing your interests through volunteering?

Do you have an interest, skill or passion that you would like to share with older people? Our Active Ageing Sessions are always looking for volunteers to come in to do art, dance, singing, crafts, give talks, lead gentle exercise sessions and more.

What do we offer our volunteers?

We think it is important for volunteers to keep up to date with their skills and changes which affect what we do as an organisation. With that in mind we support them to expand their knowledge and personal development.
